Bryce Carlson's Blackjack For Blood is an excellent all-in-one reference for any aspiring card counter. It introduces the Omega II system, a level-two, balanced, ace-neutralized count. Though some beginners may find a level-two count daunting, Carlson's explanations are easy to follow and presented in steps for ease of learning. The book starts off with some basics such as rules, theory, and basic strategy, then introduces the "Basic Omega II" system. It also delves into camouflage, with more than a dozen camouflage tips covered, and presents the "Advanced Omega II" (AOII) system, betting, and other playing tactics such as warps, tells, tracking, and more.
The AOII count is an great compromise between the power of a multi-level system and the simplicity of a level-one system. Though it can be somewhat complicated, using this system with an ace side count is probably the strongest count system available, and is excellent for use at the single- and double-deck games.
