Papillion’s mission is providing the best handmade quality skin saving products at reasonable prices.

For superlative results, Papillon has taken the finest of the anti-aging and toning complex combining them into one product – Saving Face – scented and unscented. Papillion’s fast absorbing emulsion is handmade in small batches using distilled water, sunflower oil, emulsifying wax, stearic acid, glycerin, allantoin, citric acid, Shea butter, Vitamin E.

We recommend using Papillion’s handmade Saving Face glycerin soaps. Saving Face Soaps contain the cleansing and toning complex. Choose between handmade scented and unscented at night and in the morning and then applying Saving Face emulsion – just a dab will do. You can apply Saving Face to the skin around your eyes, your lips and on the face and the neck area.  We also like to put it to the backs of the hands to help fade age spots. Apply makeup, afterwards as you prefer.

Papillon does not use dimethicone in any of our formulations. Review labels of other products for anti-aging and toning.  Most of them contain dimethicone - a non-natural chemical silicone used in most cosmetic products to create a ’feeling’ of powdery smoothness.  Dimethicone prevents absorption of our natural botanical extracts into the skin.

We prefer to use natural liquid silk from butterflies (no death to butterflies in the process) to give you a truly smooth feeling – it contains natural proteins that replenish your skin naturally.

 
        I.      Anti-aging (antioxidant)

INCI Name: (Vegetable) Glycerin, Water, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower),Seed Extract, Epilobium Angustifolium (Willow Leaf) Extract, Phyllanthus Emblica (Amalaki) Fruit Extract, Algae Extract, Foeniculum Vulgare (Fennel) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol.
 

Sunflower Extract: Anti-Wrinkle, Anti-oxidant. Rich in phenolic acids, Sunflower Seed Extract has the ability to provide protection from sun and environmental stresses by inhibiting protein glycation reaction. It helps prevent the cross linking that causes collagen fibers to lose elasticity.

 Willow Leaf Extract: Inhibition of 5-alpha-reductase.  Known as Fireweed or Rose-Bay Willow Herb. It has the ability to inhibit 5-alpha-reductase, more commonly know as DHT. 5-alpha-reductase is an enzyme that causes adult acne and male/female pattern baldness.

 Amalaki Extract: Battling Discoloration & Age Spots.  Used to combat the signs of premature aging; combats striae and wrinkles. Powerful antioxidant properties and high content of Vit. C.

Algae Extract: Firming & Moisturization. Algae Extract is all-natural and marine derived – inhibits degradation of the extra cellular matrix, for excellent firming effect and improves your skin’s moisture content. Algae Extract contains polysaccharides (sugars) - natural humectants; alginates (components that provide moisture and elasticity to the skin); fucoidanes (sulfated polysaccharides that stimulate circulation); polyphenols (anti-septic, anti-inflammatory agents and anti-oxidants); and fucosterol (an excellent emollient, blood stimulant, diuretic and moisturizing agent

Fennel Extract: Soothing, Diuretic, Antimicrobial. Diminishes a puffy or bloated look in the morning. Another property of this fabulous botanical is its antimicrobial activity. Fennel Extract prevents the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis.

      II.      Cleansing and toning complex (in the soaps)

INCI Name: (Vegetable) Glycerin, Water, Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) Extract, Geranium Maculatum (Geranium) Extract, Saintpaulia Ionantha (African Violet) Flower Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Matricaria (German Chamomile) Flower Extract, Lippia Citriodora (Lemon Verbena) Flower Extract, Phenoxyethanol.

Gotu Kola Extract: Healthy, Firm Skin. Extract gotu kola plant, an herb that grows native to India, as well as China, Africa, Sri Lanka, Australia and parts of the United States.  Gotu Kola is best known for promoting healthy skin and being a mild diuretic, lends its firming action to this blend.

Geranium Extract: Anti-Inflammatory, Astringent. Antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. A powerful astringent- unlike tannic acid it doesn’t cause a dryness of the surfaces to which it is applied instead it produces toning with the continuance of natural moisture.

African Violet Extract: Rejuvenating, Antibacterial.  From the Mbololo Forest in the Taita Hills in Kenya’s Coast Province is known as a cloud mountain forest. Growing on cliffs and large rocks under the forest canopy is a wild population of the Saintpaulia Ionantha species of African violets.  Studies in the African Journal of Biomedical Research show it to have antioxidant, antibacterial, cleansing and toning properties.

German Chamomile Extract: Firming, Protective. Exceptionally high content of the active components: Levomenol, azulenes and flavonoids from this exotic firm and protect.

Lemon Verbena Extract: Clarifies, Revitalizes.  Antibacterial antiseptic and astringent properties.
