These precious little baby bonnets (also known as hankie bonnets, hankey bonnets or magic bonnets), suitable for a baby gift, Christening, Baptism or just bringing baby home from the hospital, are sure to be treasured for years to come. These are more than a baby bonnet, they are actually a lovely batiste cotton handkerchief, edged with soft flat lace. Then, some sewing has been done to the hankie to turn it into a baby bonnet.

What makes it special is that with a few clips of the stitches, it turns back into a hankie to be used on baby's wedding day! Each baby bonnet includes a special keepsake poem.

If it's a girl, it can be what she carries as her Something Old. If baby is a boy, it can be given to his wife to carry down the aisle. Just think how special it will be to the bride, knowing that this baby bonnet once graced his tiny head many years ago.

Bonnets in the left column are made from brand new hankies, and the bonnets in the right column are made from vintage/antique handkerchiefs, which are ~70+ years old. I have even had customers who ordered a hankie for their wedding, and then mailed it back to me to turn into a bonnet for a baby!
