2.    Payment With A Credit Card of Debit Card.

First, and foremost, we request our clients to turn off spam filters or adjust spam filters to accept e-mail from Alert Medical Bracelets and vryhappi@yahoo.com.  In addition to receiving our automated order confirmations, quite often, we must contact clients to confirm engraving information or answer questions.

Prior to checking out, proofread the check-out form carefully to make sure all information has been entered correctly. Double check the credit card number, credit card security number (the last three digits on the reverse side of the credit card), expiration date, shipping address and/or the address associated with the credit card.

The credit card or debit card will be denied if the address does not match your credit card or debit card billing address.

If you wish to ship directly to a gift recipient, provide that information separately.

Be sure to note on the check-out form any discounts you are entitled to, the name of the person who referred you to Alert Medical Bracelets or Body Illuminations, and any questions you may have.

The first automated order confirmation you receive from the website is NOT a receipt for payment. Your credit card or debit card is not processed at this juncture.

We receive the same order confirmation, and review the order for accuracy and calculate any discounts you may be entitled to and special shipping requests.  If all information is correct, a final order will be e-mailed to you and your credit card or debit card will be processed.

If we notice incorrect information or unable to process your credit card or debit card, we will contact you immediately via e-mail or phone. If we do not receive a reply from you, or unable to contact you, then we cannot process your order.

If you realize you made a mistake after checking out, please CONTACT US immediately.

If you are uncomfortable ordering or providing credit card or debit card information on-line, feel free to phone in your order to 1-954-525-6995, 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., daily, Eastern time. We are located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

You may also E-MAIL your order. DO NOT SEND CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD INFORMATION IN E-MAIL.  Please include your phone number and a convenient time for us to call to process your order.

3.   Payment With A Personal Check or United States Postal Service Money Order.

Personal checks or United States Postal Service money orders are accepted.  We do not accept any other money orders other than from the United States Postal Service.  Please do not mail a check or United States Postal Service money order without contacting us first either by E-MAIL or calling 1-954-525-6995, 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., daily, Eastern time.  Payment must be submitted (in the mail) the same day the order is placed, unless other arrangements are made.  If we do not receive the draft within 8 mailing days, the transaction is voided.

Shipping is held until your personal check or United States Postal Service money order clears our bank. We will advise via e-mail when payment arrives and when shipment is made.

4.       The Importance of Purchasing Medical Jewelry From Alert Medical Bracelets.

Medical alert jewelry is a necessity if you have an unseen medical condition and/or take routine medications. If you are involved in an accident or in a situation in which you cannot speak for yourself, a medical ID bracelet or medical ID anklet instantly alerts emergency medical personnel of your medical condition(s).  In reality, and for many individuals, wearing a medical alert bracelet or medical alert anklet is a matter of “life or death.”

"Instant" is the key word. In addition to being committed to a long-term, costly contract, using a life-line service causes major delays, for example:  Prior to administering any life-saving measures, emergency personnel first have to take the time to locate a phone, dial the phone number, wait for someone to answer the phone and methodically and slowly provide a specific number engraved on an unattractive medical tag to another person.  As many consumers are aware, companies providing these services use overseas personnel to answer these calls and EMTs are often confronted with language barriers.  Even more time has lapsed while the medical information is being recorded.  Obviously, life-line services waste precious life-saving minutes.

Wallet cards are meant to be temporary. During a violent car accident, for example, you can become separated from your purse or wallet. Not everyone carries a purse or wallet everywhere they go.

Wearing a medical ID alert bracelet or medical ID alert anklet is the most practical, life-saving measure. To encourage people to wear medical ID alert bracelets, Alert Medical Bracelets  designs medical bracelets to be fashionable and to blend in with the population. For those who demand extreme discreetness, we also offer medical alert anklets.  Many of our medical alert bracelets can be customized as medical alert anklets.  All you need to do is ASK US if we can convert a medical ID alert bracelet to a medical ID alert anklet.

Our medical jewelry is designed by an experienced artist and professional jeweler. Hand-crafted jewelry, if designed and cared for properly, is sturdy and can last a lifetime. In addition, we provide a large selection of affordable, attractive interchangeable bracelet strands and interchangeable anklet strands so you can have many options, whether to wear different bracelets to match different outfits or to give as gifts.

We urge clients to COMPARE:

          (1) It is not difficult to distinguish the detail and meticulous design of Alert Medical Bracelets’ medical jewelry from others; this is one reason why we have a repeat customer base consisting of thousands of ecstatic clients!  View some of our CUSTOMERS’ COMMENTS.

          (2)  Be prudent when purchasing from another medical identification jewelry store.  At Alert Medical Bracelets, the price posted for a medical alert bracelet or medical alert anklet is the price you pay (less any discounts a client may be entitled to).  Our price includes a medical tag or medical charm, with UNLIMITED ENGRAVING.

          Other vendors lure you in with a low-ball price, then as you proceed with your order, you are charged separately for the medical tag and, even worse, charged additionally for each line and/or character of engraving!

          (3)  Alert Medical Bracelets is all about choices – YOUR CHOICES! We offer our clients a large selection of medical tags and medical charms that come with a medical bracelet or medical anklet.  We also provide the option of upgrading to sterling silver medical alert tags and sterling silver medical alert charms. We also have access to Black Hills gold medical alert tags.   Please CONTACT US for Black Hills gold medical tags or medical medallions.  Other medical jewelry stores give you NO options!

          (4)  With the exception of solid 14K gold medical bracelets priced at $500.00 plus, Alert Medical Bracelets is the ONLY medical jewelry store that sells gold medical alert bracelets and gold medical alert anklets at a fraction of the retail cost.

          (5)  All of Alert Medical Bracelets’ medical bracelets and the majority of our medical alert anklets are INTERCHANGEABLE.  Imagine being able to wear different bracelets to match different outfits!  You can easily switch the medical tag or medical charm to another bracelet strand or anklet strand!  Choose from over 200 completely different designs!  Our interchangeable bracelet strands are priced $20.00 less than our competitors (if they sell them), and, unlike our competitors, are accented with genuine sterling silver, Balinese sterling silver, vermeil, 14K gold and 14K gold-filled.

          (6)  Every piece of our medical identification jewelry is an original design and never duplicated. Who wants to wear the same bracelet as everyone else?  Each person is individual in personality and taste. We guarantee a selection that promises "something for everyone."  If you cannot find a medical alert bracelet or medical alert anklet you are looking for on our WEBSITE, all you need to do is E-MAIL US and tell us what you desire. We will even work within YOUR BUDGET!  Our customizing service saves you hours of on-line shopping and wear and tear on your eyes.  Alert Medical Bracelets’ jewelry designer is well-known for her innate ability to design jewelry from customized requests, and turning those dream pieces of jewelry into reality in a short period of time. Alert Medical Bracelets does not charge extra for custom designs.  Alert Medical Bracelets can honestly boast that we are the ONLY medical jewelry store that accepts custom requests.

          (7) Alert Medical Bracelets uses only the FINEST and RAREST materials in every color, shape and size, including Swarovski crystals, vintage glass, hand-made Dichroic and lampwork glass, genuine, Grade A semi-precious and precious gemstones, hematite, abalone and freshwater and cultured pearls. All our findings and accents are genuine sterling silver, Balinese sterling silver, Hills Tribe silver, vermeil, 24K gold-filled, 14K gold-filled and 14K gold.

          (8)  In order to share our beautiful medical jewelry with you, we strive to keep our prices affordable.  No one makes the choice of wearing a medical alert bracelet.  It is a necessary piece of jewelry and, accordingly, should not only be priced fairly but also be a stylish medical bracelet you are proud to wear.  Our competitors cannot beat our prices for the high standard of jewelry we sell.

          (9) Alert Medical Bracelets is the ONLY medical jewelry store that provides its clients with an eternal $5.00 repeat customer discount!  Other discounts include small sizes, multiple purchases and a 15% referral discount.  The longer you shop with us, the deeper the discounts can get.  That’s the beauty of being a personalized on line medical jewelry store:  there is only one person to set the standards!

          (10) A trademark of Alert Medical Bracelets is being available to our clients AFTER the sale!  It is our strong belief that you should enjoy wearing your medical identification jewelry for as long as you own it. We will maintain, repair, polish, replace components of and even resize medical jewelry whenever requested, at our cost only for materials and postage. NO ONE OFFERS THIS LIFE-LONG COMMITMENT!

          Our medical alert tags and medical alert charms are guaranteed for life, notwithstanding normal wear and tear.

5.       Measuring and Sizing For A Medical Anklet.

We cannot stress how important it is to provide an accurate size for a medical alert anklet. Before providing your size, please read our SIZING GUIDELINES carefully, which are recapped as follows.

Wrap a soft tape measurer* snugly (but not to the point where you cut off your blood flow) around the smallest part of your ankle. Then take that number and ADD ONE-HALF INCH. For example, if your ankle measures 9", then your anklet size is 9.5".

*PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR TAPE MEASURER BEGINS MEASURING AT ONE INCH.  SOME TAPE MEASURERS ARE MANUFACTURED WITH AN INCH LEEWAY BEFORE THE ACTUAL TAPE MEASURER BEGINS.

Please do not provide a size based on measuring with a string or an anklet you own.  Medical alert jewelry, and beaded jewelry in general, require a different measuring protocol than regular jewelry because more room is needed between the medical tag and your ankle.  And, when designing jewelry with beads, the size of the beads can affect the size of the anklet.

Anklets should drape the ankle, not hug it. If you do not add one-half inch, there is no space when you flex your ankle, subjecting it to breakage.

General Sizes For Anklets:

Petite = 6.75" to 7.75"

Small = 8" to 9"

Medium = 9.25" to 10.25"

Large = 10.5" to 11.5"

Extra Large = 11.75" and up.

6.       Measuring and Sizing For A Medical Bracelet.

We cannot stress how important it is to provide an accurate size for a medical alert bracelet. Before providing your size, please read our SIZING GUIDELINES carefully, which are recapped as follows:

Wrap a soft tape measurer* snugly (but not to the point where you cut off your blood flow) around the smallest part of your wrist. Then take that number and ADD ONE-HALF INCH. For example, if your wrist measures 7", then your bracelet size is 7.5".

*PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR TAPE MEASURER BEGINS MEASURING AT ONE INCH.  SOME TAPE MEASURERS ARE MANUFACTURED WITH AN INCH LEEWAY BEFORE THE ACTUAL TAPE MEASURER BEGINS.

Please do not provide a size based on measuring with a string or a bracelet you own.  Medical alert bracelets, and beaded jewelry in general, require a different measuring protocol than regular jewelry because more room is needed between the medical tag and your wrist.  And, when designing jewelry with beads, the size of the beads can affect the size of the bracelet.

General Sizes for Women’s and Girls’ Bracelets:

Petite/Child = 5" to 6"

Small = 6.25" to 6.75"

Medium = 7" to 7.75"

Large = 8" to 9"

Extra Large = 9.25" and up.

7.       Measuring for an Interchangeable Bracelet or an Interchangeable Anklet.

Please bear in mind that some people purchased their medical alert tags a long time ago, and may not have known that they have the option to switch bracelet strands.  In addition, others may have purchased their medical tags at other medical ID jewelry stores.  Medical alert tags come in all shapes and sizes.  Therefore, there is no way for us to know the length of a bracelet strand plus the size of your medical alert tag.

Instead of entering your bracelet size in the “Size” option on the order form, first, remove the medical tag from your bracelet strand.  Lay the bracelet strand on a hard, level, flat surface.  Measure the bracelet strand (or anklet strand) from the top of the clasp to the top of the other clasp.  There is no need to add or remove inches, unless you feel your current  bracelet is too big or too small.  We need to know whether your current medical bracelet or medical anklet is made with beads or a chain.

If you enter your full bracelet size or full anklet size for an interchangeable bracelet strand or interchangeable anklet strand, you will end up with a bracelet or anklet that is much too large.  Please view our SIZING GUIDELINES for more information.

8.       Measuring/Sizing For Gift Purchases.

If you are purchasing a medical alert bracelet, medical alert anklet or interchangeable bracelet or interchangeable anklet as a gift, and there is absolutely no way you or another person can measure the gift recipient’s wrist or ankle, then you can guestimate the size based on the following guidelines.

General Sizes For Anklets:

Petite = 6.75" to 7.75"

Small = 8" to 9"

Medium = 9.25" to 10.25"

Large = 10.5" to 11.5"

Extra Large = 11.75" and up.

General Sizes for Women’s and Girls’ Bracelets:

Petite/Child = 5" to 6"

Small = 6.25" to 6.75"

Medium = 7" to 7.75"

Large = 8" to 9"

Extra Large = 9.25" and up.

It is optimal to take into consideration the person’s height, approximate weight and bone structure.

There’s nothing like the surprised expression on a person’s face when receiving one of our gorgeous medical alert bracelets, medical alert anklets, interchangeable bracelet strands or interchangeable anklet strands!  We have heard these comments over and over from our clients!  However, a gift certificate is always an option, and Alert Medical Bracelets’ gift certificates never expire.

Always remember, medical alert bracelets, medical alert anklets, interchangeable bracelet strands or interchangeable anklet strands given as gifts can be resized at no charge.  To resize medical alert jewelry, please E-MAIL US or call 1-954-525-6995, 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., daily, Eastern time.  Please do not send medical jewelry to Alert Medical Bracelets without contacting us first.

Please feel free to CONTACT US if you need our assistance for sizing and gift purchases.  We are more than happy to help!

9.  Returning A Medical Bracelet, Medical Anklet, Interchangeable Bracelet Strand Or Interchangeable Anklet Strand For Resizing If Ordering The Wrong Size.

Despite our meticulous SIZING GUIDELINES, clients providing incorrect sizes is an ongoing problem.

If the client provided Alert Medical Bracelets with an incorrect size, we are happy to resize medical jewelry, but we have no choice but to charge our costs for materials, time and postage. Accordingly, we cannot stress how important it is to take one minute and read our SIZING GUIDELINES.

If the sizing error is our fault, or if the medical bracelet, medical anklet, interchangeable anklet strand or interchangeable bracelet strand is a gift, there is NO charge to re-size medical alert jewelry.  Alert Medical Bracelets will reimburse the client’s postage if we made a mistake sizing your medical jewelry.

10.     Purchasing Matching Earrings And Other Matching Jewelry For A Medical Bracelet Or Medical Anklet.

If matching earrings are not displayed with a medical alert bracelet or medical alert anklet, then visit our Earrings Page to see if there is a pair of earrings to match your medical bracelet or medical anklet.  If not, send us an E-MAIL, and tell us which medical ID bracelet or medical ID anklet you are purchasing, how long you would like the earrings (note: we measure the length of earrings from the top of the earring wire to the bottom of the earring) and which earring wires you prefer:  French hooks, posts, clip-ons or lever backs.  Due to the steep prices of gold and silver, we are left with no choice but to charge a little extra for lever back wires.

If you purchase matching earrings or other matching jewelry at the same time you purchase your medical ID alert bracelet, medical ID alert anklet or interchangeable bracelet or anklet, the price of matching jewelry is profoundly discounted 35% to 50%!

All our earring wires are either sterling silver or 14K gold-filled, except clip-ons, which are 10K gold-plated.  If you would like 14K gold-filled or sterling silver clip-on earring wires, we are happy to order them for you at our wholesale cost, which must be prepaid.  Our wholesale cost for 14K gold-filled clip-ons is $48.00 per pair.  Our wholesale cost for sterling silver clip-ons are $34.00 per pair.  Shipment of your order will be delayed pending receipt of the sterling silver or 14K gold-filled clip-ons.

Other matching jewelry you may want to consider are necklaces and anklets.  Please CONTACT US to inquire about matching necklaces and anklets.  In your inquiry, please include the Item Number of the medical ID bracelet or medical ID anklet you want the jewelry to match and the desired length of the necklace or anklet size.

11.     Discounts.

Alert Medical Bracelets is the ONLY medical jewelry store that offers continuous discounts to its customers:

          (1)     Eternal $5.00 Discount.  With every initial order, Alert Medical Bracelets encloses a $5.00 discount coupon, which may be applied towards all future website purchases over $25.00.  When using your $5.00 discount, and since there is no coupon number, please type a note on the check-out form that you would like Alert Medical Bracelets to apply your $5.00 discount to the order.  Again, you may use your $5.00 discount on ALL FUTURE ORDERS.

          (2)     Referral Discount.  If you refer a customer to Alert Medical Bracelets, and she/he spends $50.00 or more, you receive a 15% discount on your next order. This discount does not include sale merchandise, unless regularly-priced merchandise is purchased at the same time. Terms and conditions of referral discounts are stated on your packing invoice.  You may receive a 15% discount per order for each client you refer.

          (3)     Small Size Discounts.  Because Alert Medical Bracelets sells medical alert jewelry AT COST, we are in a position where we can apportion the price by size for interchangeable bracelet strands and interchangeable anklet strands.

          Small size discounts are not available for medical alert bracelets and medical alert anklets because the cost of the medical tag or medical charm composes the majority of our cost of the bracelet.

          Therefore, the posted prices for interchangeable bracelet strands and interchangeable anklet strands are not written in stone.

          (4)     Multiple Purchase Discounts.  Depending upon the medical jewelry purchased, we can apply additional discounts if more than one item is purchased.

Alert Medical Bracelets strives to fairly price all its medical jewelry so everyone may enjoy a wardrobe of pretty medical alert bracelets and/or medical alert anklets.  If you would like to know the final price of a particular bracelet or an entire order, send us an E-MAIL or call 1-954-525-6995, 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., daily, Eastern time. Please include Item Number(s) and the EXACT size you need.

Discounts are applied after you check-out and prior to processing your credit card or debit card.  You will receive an automated “final order” from the website with the discounted amounts.

12.     Redeeming Gift Certificates.

Alert Medical Bracelets’ Gift Certificates are redeemable only through our website (no auctions or other on line listings). Gift certificate recipients must E-MAIL or call in their orders and include the Gift Certificate Number, the Item Number, size (read our SIZING GUIDELINES first), choice of medical alert tag or medical alert charm and engraving information.  Also provide a telephone number, the best time to contact you and a shipping address.  When shopping, please consider shipping and postal insurance costs.

Gift certificates do not have expiration dates.

If you wish to purchase more than the Gift Certificate amount, then proceed to shop as normal.  When checking-out, type a note on the check-out form advising that you are using a Gift Certificate and indicate the Gift Certificate Number.  We will adjust the prices prior to processing your credit card or debit card.

13.     Maintenance And Care Of Medical Jewelry.

In our specialty of customizing hand-crafted, fine medical alert jewelry, Alert Medical Bracelets goes to extremes to ascertain accurate measurements. However, there are times when the correct size is not provided.  If the clasp doesn’t reach the jump ring on the medical tag or if the medical bracelet or medical anklet is snug, do NOT force the medical jewelry to fit.  This will cause breakage.  Go to www.alertmedicalbracelets.com and precisely follow our SIZING GUIDELINES, then CONTACT US to make arrangements for resizing.

Our medical alert jewelry is created with, among others, fine and vintage glass beads, freshwater and cultured pearls, precious and semi-precious gemstones, Swarovski crystals, hand-made lampwork and Dichroic fused glass and hematite. These materials can be safely cleaned with a water-damp soft cotton cloth and wiped dry with a soft cotton cloth.  We use “Dazzle” (not to be confused with “Razzle Dazzle”), an environmentally-safe cleaner, that provides the best cleaning and brightest shine to jewelry.

Alert Medical Bracelets’ medical jewelry contains genuine silver, sterling silver, Balinese silver, vermeil, 24K gold-filled, 14K gold-filled and 14K gold. Gold and silver must be occasionally polished to maintain their glow and prevent tarnish.  Do not allow polish to come in contact with pearls, crystals and semi-precious gemstones.  Alert Medical Bracelets applies polish and an anti-tarnish agent on all medical jewelry before it is shipped to our clients.

Do not use polish on Bali silver and vermeil.  To clean Bali silver and vermeil, mix a drop of dishwashing liquid and a quarter cup of water in a small open container. With a soft toothbrush or jewelry brush, gently scrub Bali silver and vermeil, rinse with a clean dampened soft cloth, then quickly dry with a soft cotton cloth.  Try to avoid touching other materials in the medical bracelet or medical anklet with the soap.

NEVER CLEAN MEDICAL JEWELRY WITH CHEMICAL CLEANERS, such as Windex or Tarn-X, and avoid contact with fragrance chemicals, which contain benzene derivatives (the very same carcinogens in  gasoline).

Store medical jewelry in the sealed plastic baggie enclosed with your order, except pearls, which should be stored in a cotton or satin-lined container at room temperature.

With proper care, hand-crafted medical alert jewelry can be worn and admired for a lifetime!

Alert Medical Bracelets encloses a copy of these Maintenance and Care Instructions with your first order.

14.     Engraving On Medical Tags And Medical Charms.

This is one of the most-asked questions we receive, yet it is the most personal and individualized for each person.  Depending upon your personal circumstances, here are a few suggestions (not all are necessary and, of course, space allowing):

Your Name

Medical Condition(s)

Routine Medication(s)

Allergies

Allergies to Medications

Emergency Contact Telephone Number

Blood Type

Doctor’s Name

Doctor’s Phone Number

DNR (Do Not Resuscitate)

If using a life-line service, and intending to continue using it, and ordering one of our beautiful medical alert bracelets or medical alert anklets, the patient number assigned to you should be engraved on the medical tag or medical charm, along with other pertinent information.

The majority of our clients choose to have their first and/or last names engraved in script on the front of the medical tag and their medical information engraved in block print on the back of the medical tag.  Please note that if you opt to have your name engraved in script on the front of the medical tag, no other information can be engraved on the front, except the word “over” in small print at the bottom.

When engraving a child’s medical alert bracelet, please be mindful of “predators.”  Although it looks nicer and is fashionable to engrave a name on the front of the medical tag, when it comes to children, Alert Medical Bracelets recommends that a child’s medical information be placed on the front of the medical tag.

Each medical alert tag and medical alert charm has a convenient template that shows you how many lines you can engrave on each side of the medical tag and the maximum allowable characters per line.  When typing your engraving information, do not omit spaces or provide abbreviations that no one else will know what they mean.  Unless there is an obvious typographical error, we submit engraving information to the engraver exactly as you provided.

Please note that 99.9% of the time the medical tag or medical charm is engraved exactly in the order in which the client provides the information.  However, the engraver reserves its right to alter the manner in which the engraving appears only so it will appear in a more clear and readable format.  Alert Medical Bracelets will not accept returns of medical alert tags or medical alert charms because the engraving is not in the order in which it was submitted.

15.     Ordering A Replacement Medical Tag Or Medical Charm.

Alert Medical Bracelets acknowledges that life can change in a moment’s notice.  Routine medications can change, as can physicians and emergency contact telephone numbers.  Any time your personal information changes, a new medical alert tag or medical alert charm will be necessary.  Alert Medical Bracelets sells replacement medical alert tags and medical alert charms at our wholesale cost to our clients only, but you must return the old medical alert tag or medical alert charm to Alert Medical Bracelets so we (and you) can receive a partial discount from the engraver.

If you wish to order a replacement medical alert tag or medical alert charm, please CONTACT US, or place your order on our WEBSITE, clearly indicating on the check-out form that you are ordering a replacement medical tag or medical charm and agreeing to return the old medical tag or medical charm to Alert Medical Bracelets.

16.     Sales of  Medical Tags Or Medical Charms Without A Bracelet Strand Or Anklet Strand?

With the exception of existing customers who wish to order a new medical alert tag, an additional medical alert tag, an upgraded medical alert tag or replacement medical alert tag or medical alert charm, medical alert tags and medical alert charms are not sold separately without first purchasing a medical bracelet or medical anklet.  We order our medical tags and medical charms from an engraving firm.  Ordering medical tags and medical charms is a lengthy, time-consuming process. Since we charge “our cost” for medical alert bracelets and medical alert anklets, and our “wholesale cost” for replacement or additional medical alert tags and medical alert charms, it is not practical, time-wise and financially, to sell medical tags and medical charms without the entire bracelet or anklet.  We appreciate your understanding.

17.     Medical Charms On Medical Alert Anklets.

Alert Medical Bracelets designs medical alert anklets with the client’s choice of a medical tag or medical charm.  However, if a client wants her medical anklet to be interchangeable, it can only be done with a medical tag.  This is because we add components to the medical charm so it can be moved from strand to strand.  On medical anklets, the addition of these components causes the medical charm to hang too low and it can get caught under the person’s heel, possibly causing someone to trip.

18.     Delivery Confirmation.

Alert Medical Bracelets ships every order with delivery confirmation purchased at the United States Postal Service.  Delivery confirmation doesn’t “track” the package from Point A to Point B but, rather, is evidence that the order was shipped, the date it was shipped, from where it was shipped and to where it will be delivered, and when it is delivered.

After Alert Medical Bracelets ships an order, an e-mail is sent to the client advising of shipment and the delivery confirmation number (and, if applicable, the insurance receipt number).  Clients can go to
www.usps.com and copy and paste the delivery confirmation number into the “Track & Confirm” box on the USPS’s home page.  The client will see “Package Accepted at Fort Lauderdale, FL 33303” (meaning the package was received and shipped from that post office branch) or “Package Delivered at      [client’s address]     on [date].”  The wording quoted here isn’t always exactly the same.  We have had instances where packages are received through other Post Office branches prior to reaching their final destination.

When a client ships jewelry to us, we require the client to purchase delivery confirmation (75 cents) and strongly recommend purchasing postal insurance should the package and its contents be lost or damaged.  After the client ships to us, please send us an
E-MAIL advising of the date of shipment and the delivery confirmation number.

19.     Shipping Options.

Please see Alert Medical Bracelets’ “Shipping Policy”.

20.     International Orders.

International orders are limited “mostly” to Canada.  Shipping and handling costs to Canada are $5.00.  Possible clients from other countries, please CONTACT US to determine whether we can ship to your country and the cost to do so.  We do not ship to Nigeria, Malaysia, Romania or other suspect countries known for Internet fraud.

Delivery confirmation and postal insurance cannot be purchased for International shipments. Therefore, there is no way to track the package or insure it. Short of stopping International sales, International buyers must understand we CANNOT replace lost or damaged packages, provide a delivery date or issue refunds. We stand behind our service, products and shipping services, which is evident by our long-term customer base, but we have no control over the package once in the possession of the U.S. Postal Service, the Canadian Postal Service and customs. The client is responsible for all customs duty taxes.

With the exception of Canada, international sales are processed only through PayPal World-Wide.  International buyers, other than Canada, will have to preregister at PayPal World-Wide prior to placing an order.

21.     Body Illuminations and Alert Medical Bracelets.

Body Illuminations unveiled its original fine artisan jewelry in 1997.  Inventory included hand-crafted anklets, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, wine glass rings and a host of other original art created by award-winning local artists.  In 1998, Body Illuminations took a revolutionary step designing hand-crafted beaded medical ID alert bracelets.  Business exploded with the sales of beaded medical alert jewelry!  Rarely was a necklace or other art work sold online.  Sales were limited to local art festivals, boutiques and jewelry shows, and jewelry was also donated at charity fund-raisers.

As Internet technology advanced, the web hosting service of Body Illuminations did not.  Therefore, it became necessary to build a new search-engine friendly website.  Instead of transferring hundreds of items that were not selling, we decided to focus exclusively on medical alert jewelry.  It’s never a good thing to change the name of a business, but we wanted a name that reflected our "new" business:  Alert Medical Bracelets.

It was Alert Medical Bracelets’ original plan to leave Body Illuminations on line for at least a year while Alert Medical Bracelets became established.  Unfortunately, our previous web hosting service shut down on January 15, 2008.  Even more unfortunately, and despite beginning the process of creating a new website in April 2007, January 15 came and went without a new website being on line.   This is by no fault of ours.  We paid two different website developers lots of money and, in return, received nothing.  It became obvious that we had to design the new website ourselves.  We signed up with our current web hosting service to build a website, but since January 2008, we experienced nothing but daily "glitches", which prevented us from loading our merchandise onto the website and has severely delayed our on line debut.

Clients can be assured that Alert Medical Bracelets is still operated by the same person and the medical alert jewelry designed by the same artist and jeweler.  Customer service will remain our number one priority.
