The Equus 3100C --Now upgraded to the 3100A-- Diagnostic Code Reader for 1996 and newer vehicles has large easy to read LCD screen. It retrieves both Generic(PO) and Manufacturer specific(P1) diagnostic codes. It also includes a 6’Data Link Connector(DLC) cable. The detailed Manual provides specific(P1) emission codes definitions for GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda and Toyota. Other makes are available from OBDII code reader website. Note: Some vehicles manufactured before 1996 are OBD II compliant. To check, locate emissions decal in engine compartment and look for "OBD II" printed on decal.

The 3100 OBD II Code Reader is designed to work on all OBD II compliant vehicles. All 1996 and newer vehicles (cars and light trucks) sold in the United States are OBD II compliant.

NOTE: Federal law requires that all 1996 and newer cars and light trucks sold in the United States must be OBD II compliant; this includes all Domestic, Asian and European vehicles.

Some 1994 and 1995 vehicles are OBD II compliant. To find out if a 1994 or 1995 vehicle is OBD II compliant, check the following:

The Vehicle Emissions Control Information (VECI) Label. This label is located under the hood or by the radiator of most vehicles. If the vehicle is OBD II compliant, the label will state "OBD II Certified". |
