The Burmese Boy

Andre Alexandar is a 2-1/2 year old sable brown Burmese male. He is the best kitty that has ever lived with these humans around here, except when he chews holes in our socks!
He is friendly, cuddly yet undemanding.    Well, most of the time anyway.    He demands his daily treats at 5:30 pm each day and can get uppity if we don't respond promptly.    How did he learn to tell time?
Andre, with his lean muscular build, loves to perch on the highest place he can find so he can look "down" upon his humans and catmates.
By the time we moved to the "country" three years ago, Andre had developed a wool eating habit (usually only found in the Oriental breeds) to which many of our socks and towels have succumbed.    Chewing great holes in socks, towels and sometimes sweaters caused us great concern for his health. After consulting a holistic vet, we made the decision to let the cats be mostly indoor pets but with outdoor privileges. The vet hoped that if Andre could rediscover his hunting instincts it might diminish his wool eating compulsion. It has!
Much to everyone's surprise, our pedigreed "Prince" seems to have discovered his hunting instincts (which we assumed had been bred out of him many iterations ago). He has 5 acres upon which to roam and hunt--and he does!
His wool eating compulsion still lingers but not as intensely as before but it does worsen during the long, snowy, cold winters here. Andre will go to the door to want out during the winter, get a hint of the cold wind and turn tail and run back to his cozy sleeping place under the comforter on my bed!
He is still a warm, cuddly cat--and small, weighing in at about 9 lbs at his best! When his human mom calls him in from his hunting, he perks up his ears, waves his tail, starts talking and comes running. He LOVES to have his human mom carry him around the yard as she inspects her flower and vegetable gardens.
