Liquid Germall Plus is a unique and cost effective preservative for your handcrafted lotions & creams. It is water soluble and easily blended into your water/oil emulsions.
This is a highly effective, broad spectrum, **non-paraben** preservative for your lotions & creams. Liquid Germall Plus is compatible with virtually all cosmetic ingredients, including complex ones such as proteins and surfactants (just in case anyone cares about that!). It is used in leave-on and rinse-off cosmetic and personal care formulations.
Liquid Germall Plus is effective against bacteria, household organisms, yeasts & molds. This preservative is effective by itself; no need to add other preservatives to cover all the bases. If you have used other Germall formulations, only Germall Plus is effective by itself.
Proven effective at low usage rates--.1% - 1%, depending on your application. Be sure you test for effectiveness in your specific use.
For example, a recipe that produces 16 oz of lotion or cream would use .03 to .16 oz of Liquid Germall Plus.
INCI: Propylene glycol, Diazolidinyl urea, Iodopropynyl butylcarbamate
Flash point: 212 degrees F
Your lotion mixture must be below 125 degrees F before adding this preservative.
Note: Please test for the appropriate, effective usage rate in your own recipes.
USAGE GUIDELINES: It is best to weigh the appropriate amount of preservative for your recipe. However, if your scale doesn't weigh small enough units, try this:
1 teaspoon of the preservative is .2 oz.
1/2 teaspoon = .1 oz
1/4 teaspoon = .05 oz
1/8 teaspoon = .025 oz
Be sure to scrape all the preservative off your measuring spoon to be as accurate as you can. And, as always, test this in your specific recipe.
