The Formation of the Union Set is only the third Coin & Chronicles partnership project between the United States Mint and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

Only 50,000 of these unique sets will be produced! The set contains the first thirteen quarters of the 50 State Quarters Program from BOTH the Philadelphia and Denver Mints:

    - Delaware
    - Pennsylvania
    - New Jersey
    - Georia
    - Connecticut
    - Massaschusetts
    - Maryland
    - South Carolina
    - New Hampshire
    - Virginia
    - New York
    - North Carolina
    - Rhode Island

That’s 26 Brilliant Uncirculated Quarters in all; including all those difficult-to-find early quarters!

Measuring 8" x 12" closed, it opens up to tell the story of how in 1776, thirteen small separate colonies declared their independence from Great Britain.

In 1787, Delaware was the first colony to officially join the newly established Union, and in 1790, Rhode Island became the thirteenth. These and other events that occurred between 1774 and 1792 set the course of American history.

Also contains photography of many of the coins utilized prior to the establishment of the U.S. Mint, plus fascinating images of rare, historic archival records.

As a bonus, a personal message from President Bush is included in this set. The President speaks to the meaning of the phrase E Pluribus Unum that appears on all U.S. coinage.
