Description: If you like Arthur Conley, youÆll love this. HeÆs at his peak with these performances. He gives Swamp DoggÆs concepts the same magnificence that he gave Otis Redding, Tom Dowd and Johnny Sandlin on ôSweet Soul Musicö, ôFunky Streetö, ôOb La Di Ob La Daö, ôGod Blessö, etc. Bobby McClure was very underrated. His initial success was a duet with Fontella Bass on the hits ôDonÆt Mess Up a Good Thingö and ôYouÆll Miss Meö on Chess Records. Bobby made several more singles during his career, but no more hits. He wanted to be Bobby Womack, not realizing that he was equally as great as several stars, just not as famous. Swamp Dogg produced this album for a Japanese tour and record deal that he negotiated for Bobby and Little Milton. It was released as the Cherry Lp in Japan and SDEG Records released a limited amount of vinyl in the U.S., to moderate success. Every song and song performance is a masterpiece. The three tracks featured here on Eddie Floyd are remakes that were produced in New Orleans by Marshall Sehorn and arranged by the incredible Wardell Quezerque. Nevertheless, EddieÆs performances are as great, if not better than the Stax originals. ThereÆs a hint of a Memphis roux stirred into a NawlinÆs soul gumbo, thus making it palatable for allà.serve with rice. SONG TITLES: Arthur Conley 1.Complication #4 2. Do We Need A Change 3.
