Just discovered in the Mattson Archives: An almost two hour video of the 1984 Hall of Fame Award Banquet, held following the 5 day Summerfest on Thompson’s Island in Boston Harbor. The Uechi Family and the first delegation from Fuzhou, China attended and were part of the ceremonies. 1983 was the first Martial Art Hall of Fame ever held. A priceless and historical memory of early Uechi-ryu in the U.S.
